About the role:
As part of the University\'s significant investment in the delivery of the Manchester Fashion Institute\'s new and ambitious strategic vision, we are looking for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Supply Chain Management to join our dynamic and growing team. You will be an experienced academic who contribute to our ambitious research and education targets. We have ambitious plans to grow our postgraduate provision, notably postgraduate research and those appointed could play a key part in supervision of PhD students. We want to further improve our graduate outcomes and reduce our award gaps.
As a Lecturer/Senior lecturer, your research and pedagogical approach will combine the foundational aspects of conventional supply chain practices with a deep understanding of the fashion industry\'s unique dynamics and challenges. We are particularly interested in candidates who possess expertise and interests in the following areas, among others, but not limited to: Intelligent retail, innovative push and pull supply strategies, supply chain agility, encompassing sourcing, product development, production, and distribution, customer-centric demand analysis and swift response solutions, resilience and the promotion of supply chain transparency, reverse logistics strategies, circular economy principles, sustainability, and ethical practices
We are seeking a candidate with an active and distinguished research portfolio, excellent communication and teaching abilities, and a strong dedication to ethical and cultural factors within the fashion industry. The research community at Manchester Fashion Institute is vibrant and we are keen to capitalise on the recent REF success with fashion having made a significant contribution to the Art & Design submissions which was ranked second in the UK for research power and as a University, 90% of our research is considered world leading or internationally excellent.
