The Department of Media, Culture and Creative Industries draws together academic staff specialising in Advertising, Creative Writing, Culture and Creative Industries, English literature, Management in Media and Creative Industries, Media and Communications, Media Production, Publishing, PR and Strategic Communications. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a good first degree (and if applying for the research and education profile, a PhD). Candidates should possess a general knowledge of contemporary critical, theoretical and professional issues in Media and Communications and be able to teach and design modules across the subject in a way that is industry-focussed and socially relevant. In particular, you should have the ability to teach modules on Media Production, Digital Content Creation, Audiovisual Media
Production, Video Editing and related areas of media practice (e.g. Creative Advertising).

You should have deep expertise in video production and the ability to use and teach postproduction software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro; Adobe Photoshop).

Person Specification

You will have a professional background in the media industries and the ability to share insights from that background in a way that is supportive of students\' employability.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher able to engage and enthuse a diverse student body that includes international students as well as students from widening participation backgrounds. We are also looking for a new colleague who is willing to collaborate to strengthen the undergraduate and postgraduate Media and Communication courses and contribute to other programmes in the department.
