Job Description

We are looking for a qualified lawyer with experience in practice to join our team as either a

Lecturer

or

Senior Lecturer

in our Academic Team at our

London Moorgate

Campus

on a permanent basis.




Reporting into our Academic Manager, you will be providing tuition across The University of Law course portfolio including, the Legal Practice Course, SQE, Law Conversion Programmes, the LLM in Legal Practice, the LLB, the Graduate Diploma in Law (PGDL), Master's in Law, PSC/PD, the BPC, Academic Masters courses and/or other University courses to the best possible standard.


We are open to applicants in all areas of law, but we are particularly interested in hearing from solicitors and barristers with Corporate/Commercial experience.


As our Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer

,

you will:




Deliver high quality teaching and support for learning, including communication with other academics for the continuous improvement of teaching and student support Identify the need for developing the content, structure, assessment within modules with colleagues and make proposals on how this should be achieved. Contribute to effective design and review of inclusive learning. Maintain quality standards and regulations in curricular design. Routinely communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers using high level skills Act as a module tutor, academic coach and sign-post students on pastoral aspects during their learning journey.

Is this you?:




Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) or equivalent or willingness to work towards.
Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards PGCHE
Sufficient breadth and depth of professional experience in the relevant discipline to develop teaching programmes and learning support Professional, credible, commands respect

Please note that if you do not currently hold this, it is a requirement of the University that you will enrol into the programme (delivered and financially supported by the University), usually within 12 months of passing probation. Successful completion/ qualification is essential to this role.*


Please note: For Senior Lecturers you will have developed significant expertise in: Application and practical delivery of a range of teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring colleagues, assessments and marking, team leadership.*
