About the role:
The Faculty of Health, Medicine & Social Care constantly pursues innovative approaches to deliver curricula to meet the ever-changing educational needs of the Health and Social Care workforce. Our pre-registration provision at Cambridge includes BSc Mental Health Nursing, BSc Child and Mental Health Nursing & BSc Adult and Mental Health Nursing. More recently we have expanded our portfolio to encompass Higher Apprentice Assistant Practitioners and Degree Apprenticeships.
Our post-registration provision includes Specialist Community Public Health Nursing, Advanced Clinical Practice, Non-Medical Prescribing, Practice Nursing, and Specialist Practice Qualifications including District Nursing. We also have a range of online and in person post registration modules and workshops. Our dynamic approach ensures that our students receive a high quality, research-informed, educational experience, and a sound knowledge of the concepts is essential. This post will include planning, developing, and teaching Pre and Post NMC Registration students and other health related courses. We have internationally excellent research in social work and social policy and have a number of world-leading nursing and healthcare researchers in our faculty.
We are recruiting for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in district/ community nursing to join our Cambridge community nursing team. This post will include planning and managing learning and teaching for both pre- and post-registration nursing/midwifery students, facilitating online and face to face teaching (including simulated clinical skills), acting as an academic assessor for NMC approved courses, link activity supporting practice-based learning, and contribution to research, innovation, and knowledge exchange activities of the school and wider Faculty.
With a master\xe2\x80\x99s degree or first degree with significant clinical experience and ongoing evidence of CPD, you will also hold a current registration with the UK NMC as an adult/child/mental health nurse/midwife. You\xe2\x80\x99ll have extensive experience of contemporary clinical community nursing practice and/or clinical education, excellent written and oral communication skills, be IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, and the ability to think innovatively and be able to meet deadlines. You\xe2\x80\x99ll contribute to curriculum development and work co-operatively and as part of a team. With an enthusiastic and flexible approach and good interpersonal and negotiating skills, you\xe2\x80\x99ll demonstrate commitment to our values with a willingness to contribute to the collective life of the faculty.
