The role

The School of Education is seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to make a significant contribution to the School's BSc Psychology in Education programme, an innovative interdisciplinary social sciences degree and, play a key role in the delivery of Master's level teaching.



The role is offered on a fixed term maternity cover basis initially at Grade J, profile 1b and ideally suited to individuals looking to further their teaching experience in an internationally renowned environment with a commitment to excellent pedagogical experience.



In exceptional circumstances the role may be appointed at Grade K, level 1c, where candidates have demonstrable experience, in-depth subject knowledge, evidencing substantial contribution within the educational psychology field and have a track record of academic leadership.



The role is offered on fixed term basis for ten months from the 1st August 2025 to 29th May 2026.

What will you be doing?

This is a Pathway 3 role, and the post-holder's contribution will span teaching, scholarship, and administration, with a primary focus on teaching endeavours, contributing to the BSc and MSc Psychology in Education programmes. Key elements of the role include contributing to the successful development of new techniques, methods, and tools, as appropriate, to enhance teaching provision in the speciality area of psychology in education. In addition, the post-holder will provide individual academic advice and support to students, advising on appropriate reading to the course, availability of library resources, practical techniques, the setting and marking of coursework, examinations and other assessment tasks.

The School of Education is seeking to appoint an individual with experience of teaching on successful undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and applications are sought from candidates who have demonstrable experience and a broad knowledge base in educational psychology, with the successful candidate teaching upon units based upon area of expertise and current needs of the School.
