Duties:



To assist students to take a full part in learning activities on equal terms with other students in lessons. To support students with their identified provision in line with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). To support the students in their physical needs, mobility and health and safety as appropriate. Training will be provided where appropriate. To work with course lecturers to ensure the students are successfully included in to the college environment. To become familiar with the use of specialist equipment for the benefit of the student. Training will be provided where appropriate. To differentiate appropriate learning material to support individual student provision and requirements. To regularly update individual learning plans in line with EHCP's and SEN needs. To contribute to, and attend annual reviews as primary LSAs for the students within their cohort. Attend English and Maths Department team meetings and relevant training.

Skills/experience:



Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and the willingness to learn college IT systems Excellent administrative capabilities i.e. accurate record keeping Knowledge and understanding of disability/sensory impairment is less important than a willingness to learn

Qualifications:



Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (or equivalent) Level 2 or 3 NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent desirable.
