An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a committed Learning Disability Nurse to work in an exceptional hospital based in the Ayr, South Ayrshire. This hospital provides acute adult mental health services within a low Secure Service, for patients with personality disorders.



As a Nurse you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers. You will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills when liaising with members of the multi-disciplinary team, external agencies and organisations, patients and relatives. You should also have a good working knowledge of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007. Experience in a related environment is essential.



As a Nurse your key duties include:



Provide a high standard of care to people with mental illness and personality disorder

Develop therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement

Contribute to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress

At a more senior level, you'll also need to lead shifts as well as mentoring and supporting student nurses and other members of the team

Follow all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice

16.5 - 32.5 hour contract - 50%
