Our Global Product Cost (GPC) team oversees the cost aspects of the entire Dyson product range, from research and development to production and end-of-life stages.

About the role

As a Lead Product Cost Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in our GPC team, working at the forefront of NPD projects, guiding them from inception to successful market launch. Collaborating with a global cross-functional team across the UK, Singapore, and Malaysia, your focus will be on providing accurate reporting and insightful analysis to ensure projects meet their target cost.

Your ability to deliver timely, precise analysis on product cost will be crucial in supporting milestone achievements, conducting financial health checks, managing change, and tracking risks and opportunities. You will spearhead the monthly reporting cycle, ensuring that product cost changes align with governance processes and maintain target cost objectives. Keeping a vigilant eye on cost risk and opportunities, you will ensure that progress updates are provided promptly.

Your reporting and analysis will shed light on product cost versus target cost and other benchmarks, enabling informed decision-making. Throughout the product lifecycle, you will drive efficiency and cost reduction, ensuring that products are developed and delivered within target cost. Additionally, your expertise will be instrumental in generating accurate cost estimates for new projects in the Research Design and Development (RDD) phase.

Collaboration will be key as you work closely with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and Finance. By challenging existing norms, you will partner with these teams to establish achievable yet ambitious target costs. You will also contribute to the development of new cost calculation tools in collaboration with Engineering and Procurement.

About you

- An engineering, manufacturing, or cost accounting degree with at least 5 years of experience in product cost engineering

- Experience in Consumer Products Industry and/or Technology business preferred

- Able to navigate complex product design and influence business partners effectively

- Fearless in questioning assumptions and challenging entrenched beliefs

- Excellent communication skills and adept at overcoming functional boundaries

- Proven ability to build consensus and drive change
