Job Description

Ridgeway & Co are actively recruiting a lead Site Engineer on behalf of a prominent main contractor for a job in St Albans.

Role Overview:

maintain high standards, ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget. Overseeing multiple projects at a time and leading a team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting Out:

Manage setting out at various build stages, including foundations, earthworks, facade, and internal layouts.

Quality Assurance:

Inspect and verify subcontractors' work, maintaining a daily log of progress for each subcontractor.

Project Management:

Oversee all construction phases from substructure to superstructure, including landscaping.

Communication:

Attend weekly management meetings and coordinate with Site Clerks, Quantity Surveyors, and Health Safety Officers.

Instrument Proficiency:

Utilize EDM, rotating laser levels, and other instruments for as-built surveys, QA, and snagging.

Tech Savvy:

Proficient with construction management software, particularly Procore, and adept with tablets/android devices for on-site QA recording.

IT Skills:

Competent with Microsoft Office, emails, and other software programs.

Design Knowledge:

Strong understanding of design, drawings, details, and specifications.

Construction Expertise:

Comprehensive knowledge of substructure, drainage, and utilities.

Progress Monitoring:

Prepare for daily and weekly progress meetings, providing updates on work status and identifying any delays.

Requirements:

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years as a lead Site Engineer.

Education:

Engineering Degree/Diploma or related qualification.

Software Skills:

Confident with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
