About the Individual Being Supported:



The individual being supported is driven, intelligent, and kind-natured. She takes her health very seriously and is committed to looking after herself to the best of her ability. Having proper support and structure will allow her to maintain her routines and wellbeing.

She has clear and successful strategies to manage her condition and requires support to maintain and improve these systems as required.

The client engages in voluntary work. She also has a strong social life, values exercise and yoga and enjoys reading, crafting and good food.

She has had excellent relationships with PAs in the past and is very flexible and supportive towards her workers. It would be beneficial for the PA and client to have a strong relationship based on trust, honesty and mutual understanding.

Position Overview:



5 hours per week. Shift patterns and times are flexible and agreed to suit both the client and the assistant.

13.00 per hour.

Tasks:



Tasks vary from shift to shift, including, but not limited to:

? Cleaning

? Cooking

? Organising things around the home according to existing systems or working with the client to suggest new solutions. For example, client has a pantry with a spreadsheet inventory, client keeps clothes organised in a way that streamlines daily use.

? Making phone calls on behalf of the client - client will be in the room to answer questions; phone calls are for appointments, queries to businesses or contacting new services.

? Help to maintain safe home environment including help to identify, plan and carry out repairs or hire tradespeople

? Basic emotional support - treating the client with empathy. For example listening to the clients' needs and experiences; understanding that she has different emotions on different days; motivating the client if required; talking through things to help the client to identify next steps in complex situations
