PRIMARY ROLE

Provide a friendly and efficient launch service for club members.

Carry out general boat preparation and maintenance tasks.

Work under the supervision of the Bosun.

DUTIES

Provide launch service to members using club launch 'Emma'.

Maintain launch, committee boat and club powerboats in a clean, tidy and safe state with sufficient fuel.

Use rowing tender to collect and return launch and power boats to/from mooring.

Collect fuel from Chichester Marina via water.

Help launch and recover power boats and classic racing dinghies.

Carry out maintenance on boats and around clubhouse and grounds, which amongst other things, may include keeping the dinghy park tidy, cleaning ribs, ad hoc tasks.

Keep accurate records as requested.

Assist generally with the overall service to club members.

HOURS

Seasonal role to 30th Oct.

40 hours per week. Exact hours per week will vary.

Workdays are Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon, including bank holidays. Additional days may be rostered as required.

Launch operates according to weather and tidal conditions, but generally 08:30 - 18:00 on Sat, Sun and bank holidays with extended operating hours to 19:00 from Whitsun to mid Sept.

22 days annual holiday (pro-rata 14.5 days).

PERSONAL CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Knowledge and experience of boating or sailing as a sport.

RYA PB2 essential. VHF, First Aid preferred. Training provided if required.

Full driving licence (manual) allowing tractor driving.

General boatwork and maintenance skills.

Friendly, polite and communicative disposition.

Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a small team, and with the club's suppliers and service providers.

Mature approach to all interactions with club members, Flag Officers (directors), staff and external contacts.
