Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Labourer/Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team. We are looking for someone with knowledge of building materials, this job will be delivering building materials to various sites in and around Cambridge, clearing sites and helping trades when required.

Duties

Operate a van to transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely deliveries. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transit. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving. Assist keeping the works unit clean and tidy

Qualifications

Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving is preferred. Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for performing basic vehicle maintenance. Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and clients. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a warehouse setting. Familiarity with flatbed vehicles is a plus but not essential.
