:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated laboratory technician to join our In Vitro Biology team. You will contribute to our technology-enabled drug discovery programmes by supporting core activities within a dynamic team of drug discovery scientists.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract postion

Responsibilities

• Organise and maintain laboratory stocks and reagents
• Receive deliveries and update inventories
• Compound management (ordering and dissolving compounds, generation of assay ready plates)
• Laboratory waste management (Cat1 and Cat2)
• Monitor and keep communal areas clean and tidy
• Oversee and manage cleaning rotas for laboratory and tissue culture
• Oversee maintenance of general laboratory equipment
• Carry out all scientific support activities in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines

• Generate and follow detailed SOPs
• Health and Safety checks
• Portable appliance testing

• BSc in a science related subject is desirable but not essential
• Previous experience in a laboratory or drug discovery environment preferred
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards
• Positive mindset to problem solving with the ability to work to deadlines
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to multitask
• Self motivated and can work independently as well as part of a group
• Ability to work across departments

• Experience with automation desired
• Experience with inventories and database management preferred
• Computer literacy and proficient user of Excel
