Our client are specialists within their field, established for over 20 years and are now seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented

Lab Technician

to join their Flexographic Ink, Coating, and Adhesive division. This pivotal role supports end-to-end product development, quality assurance, customer service, and regulatory compliance. The technician will be instrumental in ensuring their products meet performance, safety, and customer expectations, while contributing to continuous improvement across their operations.

This role requires cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving on-site at customer locations, and adherence to ISO 9001 standards.

Key Responsibilities



Perform routine lab tasks such as colour matching, swatch production, and sample preparation. Handle client-specific dispersion matching and sample requests with precision and speed. Develop and optimise formulations for flexographic inks, functional barrier coatings, dispersions, and adhesives. Conduct rigorous lab testing and troubleshoot production issues in collaboration with manufacturing teams. Validate new raw materials with suppliers and assist in scaling successful formulations. Perform QA testing on raw materials and finished products, promptly addressing non-conformances. Manage ISO 9001 compliance, including documentation, audits, and corrective actions. Maintain and analyse the customer complaints system to ensure effective resolution and compliance with ISO standards. Provide hands-on technical support at customer sites. Liaise with sales and customer service teams to implement product improvements based on customer feedback. Maintain the COSHH register and ensure the team stays updated. Prepare and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Technical Data Sheets (TDS), and product labelling in compliance with GHS, REACH, and CLP. Lead or assist in training team members on chemical safety practices and regulatory requirements. Promote and enforce best practices in lab and workplace safety. Occasional travel (domestic and international) to customer sites for trials, audits, or issue resolution.

Skills & Competencies



Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in laboratory QA testing equipment and software tools. High attention to detail, especially in compliance, documentation, and data management. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Primarily based in laboratory and manufacturing environments with regular exposure to chemicals.
