Job Description

Staffline is recruiting candidates to work as a Lab Assistant at our client - a leading Dairy processor - based in Ballymena.

This Part-time role offers fixed shifts.

The hours available include:

- 1pm to 5pm Monday to Friday

The hourly rate is \xc2\xa310.42 per hour.

Overtime might be available.

Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided.

Your Time at Work

The responsibilities of a Lab Assistant Operative include:

1. Clean samples racks, sample crates and the micro sample receipt boxes for collection.

2. Clean milk recording boxes and racks and reassemble with barcodes & preservatives ready for collection.

3. Assemble sample boxes for advisory work for dispatch i.e. SCC & Mastitis.

4. Segregate "Disease Samples" for dispatch to the appropriate personnel.

5.Wash laboratory glassware and equipment.

6. Disposes of liquid and solid samples through the appropriate waste route.

7. Collects consumable stock from the store for laboratory use.

8. Receive and distribute miscellaneous samples and materials

delivered into the laboratory to the appropriate personnel.

9. Sort milk recording samples and record details.

10. Prepare culture media and materials for use in the laboratory and

record details of the batches.

11. Carry out general housekeeping duties and record details.

12. Carry out any other duties as directed by the Laboratory Manager

or the Laboratory Supervisors.

Our Perfect Worker

Our ideal Lab Assistant will have a basic understanding of English, both written and verbal, in order to communicate with other workers. They will also need to be reliable, punctual and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

No previous experience is necessary as a Lab Assistant as full training will be provided.
