Brief job description:

Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a Junior IOS Developer Apprentice with Oak Tyres UK LTD, an industry leader in supplying tyres and associated products based in Newton Le Willows.

:

We\'re currently recruiting for a Junior Software Developer to join us - based in our Head Office at Newton-le-Willows. The role is well suited for an ambitious and self-motived individual. You must be able to write clean, maintainable code, and appreciate the principles of clean architecture.

You will be a confident communicator, that enjoys working as part of a fast-paced team, and happy to embrace change. This role will be rewarding for a motivated individual who is keen to develop themselves and help the wider team succeed.

You will be enthusiastic about technology and be proactive in identifying areas of improvement in code bases and working practices, then effectively put forward your ideas for improvement for the department to contribute effectively to the company goals.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software, identifying, and resolving issues to improve overall performance and user experience.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to build and deliver features, actively participating in discussions, brainstorming sessions, and providing valuable insights.
  • Work towards task lists and time estimates, delivering assignments within the given requirements and deadlines.
Qualifications:

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Skills Required:
  • Ability to develop and deploy mobile applications successfully.
  • Ability to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies, allowing for effective collaboration within cross-functional teams and iterative development.
  • Experience in writing readable and maintainable code, employing best practices and coding standards to facilitate codebase comprehension and future enhancements.
  • Ability to work as part of a tight-knit team, actively collaborating with colleagues and other groups to achieve common goals and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Experience working in an agile development process, effectively adapting to changing requirements and priorities while maintaining productivity.
  • Drivers licence desirable due to potential travel to other sites.
Personal qualities:
  • Experience and knowledge/qualifications in coding languages.
  • Strong prioritization skills.
  • Understanding of frameworks and agile methodologies.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Team player but able to work from own initiative.
Future prospects:

Training to be provided:

Estio apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we\'ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.

Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Software Development Technician, with training in how to:
  • Implement secure code in appropriate languages of different types.
  • Support the communication of software solutions and ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Conduct a range of test types.
  • Build scripts in line with work instructions for deployment into the relevant environment.
  • Design simple software solutions to meet your requirements using tools and techniques.
