About the Role

We're looking for a

passionate kitchen team member

to join us here at

Ty Afon - River House

. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys

creating fresh, high-quality dishes

while working in a welcoming and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook

delicious breakfasts

for our hotel guests. Assist in

food preparation

for lunches, light bites, and seasonal menus. Compile and present

traditional cream teas

with fresh scones, cakes, and accompaniments. Support the team in preparing

evening food

for events, private dining, and guest meals. Maintain high standards of

food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety

in the kitchen. Assist with

stock control and kitchen organisation

, ensuring smooth service. Work collaboratively with the team to provide an

exceptional guest experience

.

Flexibility to assist in other areas of the business as needed

, covering for holidays and sickness to ensure smooth operations.
During the out-of-season winter months, key responsibilities will also include

maintenance, deep cleaning, housekeeping, and providing support to the management team as needed

, ensuring the venue remains in top condition for the season ahead.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a

kitchen role

(hotel or cafe experience preferred). A passion for

fresh, locally sourced food

and high-quality presentation. Ability to work

efficiently and calmly

in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of

food hygiene and safety standards

(Food Hygiene Certificate preferred). A

team player

with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Willingness to work flexible hours

, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and events as needed. From time to time, you may be required to assist in other areas of the business to provide cover for holidays and sickness, ensuring smooth operations across the team

What We Offer:

12.60 - 13.50 per hour (Full time positions operate an annualised hours scheme with a potential for overtime) (part time or fixed contract positions are paid monthly for hours worked with a potential for overtime)
