Permanent, part-time position - 20 hours per week


Downing College is seeking a part-time Kitchen Porter to join its friendly Catering team who prepare and serve a range of high-quality food, including fine dining, to the College community and commercial guests. This varied role includes cleaning kitchen items, maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen related areas, disposing of waste and recycling.


We are looking for individuals who can work evenings from Monday to Friday, typically from 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Additionally, weekend availability for both day and evening shifts is required. Some flexibility in working hours may be possible.

Founded in 1800, Downing College in the University of Cambridge has a unique and magnificent setting among twenty acres of lawns and trees yet is located in the centre of Cambridge. The post of Kitchen Porter is a permanent part-time role. Working 20 hours per week over 3-4 shifts per week. We are seeking individuals who are looking to work a mixture of evenings shift in the week and day and evening shifts on the weekend. The salary for this role is 12,759 per annum (Step 24 on the College Salary Scale).
