St John's School, Sidmouth is an independent day and boarding school in Devon for boys and girls aged 2.5 -16. The school is located on a hill overlooking the sea in the beautiful Regency town of Sidmouth and benefits from excellent facilities including beautiful historic buildings, extensive grounds and playing fields, indoor sports hall, adventure playground and tennis courts.

We are looking for a skilled Chef/Cook to work with our experienced team.

Salary of up to 17ph

Weekly pay

40 hours per week

42 weeks per year term time, but to include inset days, half terms and summer camp.

Some weekend working will be required.

Duties

- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following recipes
- Ensure food safety standards are met throughout the cooking process
- Assist in the planning of menus and meal preparation schedules
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to deliver high-quality meals promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area

Qualifications

- NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Cook or similar role in a restaurant setting
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
- Understanding of kitchen health and safety regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
