We're looking to expand our team at Freckles Cafe following wonderful growth since our opening in June 2023 on Milford Waterfront. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assist/ Cook support to join our established team and contribute to our kitchen operations at our licensed cafe/restaurant and coffee shop. Serving wholesome breakfasts, lovely home made cakes, light bites, lunches, afternoon teas, and delightful sundaes, you will have a passion for home made wholesome locally sourced food and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, working under pressure with a sense of humour and a smile. Key Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and cooking tasks, ensuring high quality and consistent dishes are served

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils

Follow standard recipes and portion sizes to make , prepare and plate food items

Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of orders

Stock and replenish ingredients and supplies as needed ensuring proper storage and rotation

Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure quality and accuracy

Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Maintaining knowledge and awareness of allergens , kitchen best practices etc

Assist in dishwashing and cleaning duties, ensuring a high standard of sanitisation maintained at all times

Follow instructions from on duty cook & other senior staff to ensure smooth operation

Monitor stock levels and notify senior staff of changes

Share ideas and recipes, actively suggesting and designing specials as part of the kitchen team.

Supporting the Cook on duty in all aspects of kitchen service delivery.

Pay: 10.50-11.50 per hour
