Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant on a part time basis (approx 12/16 hours per week) The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation and ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This role is crucial in maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness while supporting our chef in delivering exceptional meals. Ideally you will have previous kitchen experience. Must be available to work Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 12 noon until 3/4pm. No evenings This role will also involve pot washing duties

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised. keeping on top of pot washing Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the safe handling and storage of food items. Support the chef by preparing plates with side salads / warming plates etc. Making sandwiches / jacket potatoes etc Help with the cleaning of kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes after use. Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is advantageous Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is preferred. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills to liaise with chefs and other kitchen staff. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary techniques.
