We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting with meal preparation, food safety practices, and ensuring a clean and organised workspace. This position is perfect for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a dynamic environment, whether in a restaurant, catering service, or other food-related settings. We are a Community organisation owning our local Hotel. You must be comfortable in a small village location mixing with a wide variety of people. On site accommodation is available.
Responsibilities
Assist chefs and in the preparation of meals and ingredients.
Support food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Help with the organisation and cleanliness of kitchen equipment and utensils.
Ensure all food items are stored correctly to prevent spoilage.
Assist in catering events by preparing food items as required.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff to contribute to menu execution.

Qualifications
Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is advantageous but not essential.
Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is preferred.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in meal preparation and catering.
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
Friendly personality & the ability to work calmly and professionally.
