Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring that all food is prepared according to recipes and standards. Help with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards. Support cooks and chefs during busy service periods by providing timely assistance. Assist in the storage of food items, ensuring proper labelling and rotation to prevent spoilage. Participate in cleaning duties, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Follow all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.

Skills

Experience in meal preparation or food preparation within a restaurant or catering setting is preferred. Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is essential. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary techniques. Flexibility to assist with various tasks as needed in the kitchen.
