We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, meal assembly, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting our chefs and ensuring that all food safety standards are adhered to while contributing to the overall efficiency of our kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
Support chefs in cooking and assembling dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
Ensure that all food safety guidelines are followed, including proper storage of ingredients and maintaining hygiene standards.
Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
Participate in catering events as required, assisting with meal preparation and service.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential.
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills is advantageous.
Understanding of food safety practices and hygiene regulations is required.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.
