We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Junior Solicitor to provide dedicated legal support across all Elemento Group business units, including development, construction, procurement, finance, and property management. This role is central to the Group's legal operations and risk management, with a strong focus on supporting contractual and regulatory matters across the real estate and construction life cycle.
You will be responsible for managing legal processes across the Group's property and development portfolio, including oversight of legal documentation such as Subcontract Agreements (SCAs), Deeds of Appointment (DOAs), professional appointments, and third-party agreements. You will play a critical role in managing ongoing and future litigation matters, liaising with external counsel, preparing evidence bundles, and ensuring disputes are handled efficiently and strategically.
As the key legal liaison within the business, you will coordinate and monitor the performance of external solicitors and consultants, ensure internal governance is upheld, and act as a trusted advisor to the development and senior leadership teams. Your work will be integral to safeguarding the Group's commercial interests, reducing legal exposure, and enabling the timely delivery of strategic development projects.
Responsibilities:
Working in partnership with teams across development, construction, procurement and finance to assist in managing contracts, finance agreements, professional and contractor appointments, employment and regulatory compliance.
Management of third-party legal firms. Liaise with external solicitors, local authorities and other stakeholders in managing property acquisitions, property sales, commercial agreements and dispute resolution.
Responsibility for deadlines, deliverables, and responses.
Assist in the drafting and reviewing of basic legal documents.
Document collation and file organisation. Prepare case files and evidence bundles for external solicitors for dispute resolution processes including property, construction and commercial disputes.
Implement management's legal strategies, policies and best practices to manage the various stakeholders across each development project.
Conduct legal research on changes to property law and housing regulations.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Provide administrative support, including organising case files and scheduling meetings.
Specific Key Responsibilities
Group Legal Oversight:
Provide legal support across all business units, ensuring contracts, appointments, and legal documents are properly structured, reviewed, and aligned with Elemento's commercial and operational strategies.
Subcontract Agreements (SCAs):
Draft, review, negotiate, and manage the full suite of SCAs in line with project requirements and procurement protocols. Ensure that contract terms, scopes, and risk allocations are commercially sound and compliant with Group policies.
Deeds of Appointment (DOAs):
Manage the preparation and execution of DOAs for consultants, designers, and professional service providers. Ensure appointments are accurate, reflect agreed deliverables, and are appropriately linked to main contract obligations and project milestones.
Litigation and Dispute Management:
Take ownership of managing current and prospective litigation and dispute matters. This includes liaising with solicitors and counsel, coordinating internal responses, preparing case documentation and evidence bundles, and ensuring strategic oversight from initiation to resolution.
Third-Party Legal Firm Management:
Act as the primary liaison for all external legal advisers, ensuring that legal instructions are clear, timelines are agreed, and deliverables are tracked and met. Monitor the performance of external solicitors, chase responses where needed, ensure accountability on case timelines, and report delays or risks to the internal team.
Document Control and Filing:
Maintain a well-organised, secure, and easily accessible system for all legal documentation--contracts, correspondence, legal opinions, and case files. Ensure accurate collation, version control, and archiving of legal documents for ongoing and completed matters.
Legal Risk and Compliance Management:
Identify and monitor key legal and regulatory risks across projects. Implement internal controls and compliance processes to mitigate risk exposure and ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements across development, planning, and construction activities.
Contractual and Regulatory Support:
Assist in reviewing and drafting a wide range of legal documents including NDAs, consultant appointments, licenses, easements, development and funding agreements, and related correspondence. Ensure consistency and legal compliance in all contract documents.
Strategic Legal Input:
Provide ongoing legal input throughout project lifecycles, from acquisition and design through to construction and disposal. Advise on structure, liabilities, and compliance matters to support delivery, mitigate delays, and protect the Group's interests.
Skills and Qualifications:
A degree in law or equivalent legal qualification.
Previous experience in property law, construction law or dispute resolution is preferred.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365' suite software.
Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
