Job Description

Role: Junior Proposals Engineer
Location: ST15 0QN with regular travel to office in CH65 4LR and client sites across the UK
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday) within Core Hours

Responsibilities

Initial 6 Month Period:

To primarily work with and support the products and general engineering proposals engineer. Learn and understand the technical and commercial elements of the products portfolio. Learn all aspects of the sales process and documented quality procedures. To provide general support as required to the wider proposals, sales and service team in the preparation of sales costs, quotes and documentation. Utilise Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to develop and track sales pipeline. Be flexible, team orientated and have the ability to work on own initiative. Provide a weekly activity report to the Group Proposals Manager. Be prepared to work across multiple departments to develop an in depth understanding of the Groups operations and services. Working in accordance with all nZero Group QHSE. processes procedures and expected employee standards.

6 Months onwards

Take the lead role for the production of product quotations to contract award in line with the internal procedures. Continue to develop the ability to take the lead role and progress integration enquiries to contract award. Actively identifying opportunities and engaging with prospects to develop relationships. Provide technical support to customers, sales team and other departments. Generate and deliver presentations to customers and internally. Build close working relationships with the product manager and liaise directly with suppliers to obtain the required products at the correct price and delivery time needed to close a sale. Be able to communicate clearly at all levels on both commercial and technical issues and where required mobilise resources to close a sale. Building inter-departmental relationships within the group, i.e., engineering dept, service teams/technicians, project managers etc. Working in accordance with all nZero Group QHSE. processes procedures and expected employee standards Work with all proposals engineers and the wider sales team to understand and be able to support their activities.
Requirements

Minimum of a HNC in a related Engineering discipline, formal apprenticeship (or working towards a similar qualification). Good communication and presentation skills and ability to work within a team. Possess the desire & and aptitude to learn new skills and constantly improve technical and commercial understanding. Willingness to develop to take ownership / responsibility of a particular business area and develop it. Attention to detail. Commercial awareness. IT literate, including Microsoft Office programmes. Good organisation and planning. Full driving licence and access to own transport
