What You'll Do:



Financial Accounting


Responsible for various tasks relating to period end accounting closes for a range of IMG Arena streaming and data rights properties. Variance analysis of actual results against forecast and budgets The month end process to close a typical rights property is as follows:


+ Collate sales figures on a property-by-property basis from our Stadium system.
+ Ensure that all deals are included within the timeline of the rights contract and revenue is being phased correctly over the year in which it relates to.
+ Update workbook monthly to reflect the volumes delivered for each month and ensure phasing of revenue is not affected.
+ Ensure that all reconciled deals are updated on the timeline as to ensure we are recognising the correct and agreed upon revenue figure.
+ Download invoiced values from SAP to be compared against revenue to recognise per deal.
+ Ensure that workbooks correctly compare revenue to be recognised vs revenue invoiced to date.
+ Update forecasted overage on a property-by-property basis for deals which we have delivered beyond the contracted minimum.
+ Ensure correct rights fee is recognised in the period based on delivered volumes (including calculation of client share if applicable)
+ Defer or accrue accordingly in transactional currency on the relevant streaming/data order number.
+ Perform control checks on each year of each property to ensure that the accounting system correctly reflects our intended revenue recognised to date.
If any of the above properties are deemed high risk and in need of VP review then additional info/evidence if required within the workbook before submitting for VP review. Assisting the controllership team with balance sheet reconciliations for accounting close properties above. Assisting the controllership team with other ad-hoc requests Assist AM team with annual customer reconciliation process. When delivered volumes are agreed with a customer post year end, finance produce a Stadium entry document which ensures that the Stadium adjustments are implemented correctly by the AM team.
Commercial Accounting


Preparation of periodic (typically quarterly) client accounting reports for rights properties including liaising with clients Liaison with the Arena rights team and group accounts payable function to ensure all rights fee invoices are processed correctly and payments are made on a timely basis.
Other


Support the wider Arena finance team to standardize workbooks and improve efficiency of the month end close process. You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job.

You Have These:



Basic knowledge of UK and US GAAP Confident and flexible team player with the ability to work with commercial staff across the organisation Must be able to work on own initiative to identify and resolve problems Understanding of revenue recognition Part qualified Accountant or recently qualified Accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) or relevant other financial / accounting qualifications or experience. Must be able to plan and organise work to meet deadlines and determine priorities Must be able to work on own initiative to identify problem areas and work through to a satisfactory conclusion Must be able to work calmly under pressure and work as part of a team to achieve results Proactive and self-motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills; and A "finisher" with the genuine drive and commitment to deliver against objectives at all times Strong Excel ability Good communication (written and verbal) skills

We'd Also Love If You Have These:



Hands on experience of working within the media or sports rights industry Experience in using SAP (or equivalent) accounting system A strong interest in both sports and media An understanding of the sports betting industry
