We work on more than 75 leading industrial automation and engineering products. The 3D Cloud Streaming team are responsible for bringing AVEVA\xe2\x80\x99s powerful industrial 3D and Extended Reality (XR) visualization technologies to the cloud. Our solutions deliver high performance, immersive visualization of large and complex industrial assets for use cases ranging from Design Review, Construction Planning, Training and Simulation, and Operations and Maintenance.
We are looking for talented engineers with the skills and passion to successfully implement technical solutions to complex industrial problems. As a Junior DevOps Engineer, within the 3D Cloud Streaming team, you will work collaboratively within a lean-agile scrum team comprising Architects, Software Engineers, and Test Engineers. Your focus will be on the design, delivery, maintenance and support of world leading cloud based extended reality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a Junior Operations Developer.
In this role you will be a software engineer working with architects, other developers, testers, AVEVA\xe2\x80\x99s Cloud DevOps (CDO) team (who manage our production systems) and colleagues in other development teams who make use of our services.
You will work with more senior colleagues to contribute code, documentation, and process improvements to help define and improve the operational readiness of our team\xe2\x80\x99s products. Specifically, this will involve contributing, to the specification, implementation, and documentation of many functions that contribute to the success of the services we produce, for example:
Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis
System metrics and alarms
SLAs and associated measurement systems
Deployment and upgrade scripts
Operational Guides
Fault finding guides
Disaster recovery strategies, plans and tests
Training Guides for AVEVA Cloud DevOps and customer support
DevOps pipelines and practices
Throughout this, you will work closely with colleagues and under their guidance to collectively ensure that the delivery of our services through the whole life-cycle is efficient, correct and compliant with company and industry best practices.
In short, we want you to be keen to learn and contribute to the productization of our cloud-based, SAAS solutions
We use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions (e.g. Bicep), C#/.Net, YAML, Git, ADO, MS Azure, AKS and many other development, test and quality tools and we use SAFe and SCRUM
Some out of hours support assistance may be required from time to time.
Ideal Experience
You will have some working knowledge of the Microsoft Azure cloud technology and keen to develop your skills in this area.
You will be able to understand guidance and be able to learn as you perform your duties. This means you will need to be a self-starter, a quick learner and be comfortable prioritizing activities based on guidance from Team Lead and distilling order from complexity.
You will have a reasonable working knowledge of IaC and PowerShell, supported by an appreciation of .Net programming (e.g. C#) and ADO but more importantly will be very keen to learn and develop your skills in such technologies.
We would like you to have an appreciation of or be keen to learn about microservices approach to software architecture.
We especially value strong communication skills, a well-developed attention to detail, and the ability to learn and apply what you learn from your colleagues about the right way to do things
