We're looking for a

Junior / Graduate Automation Engineer

on behalf of a leading innovator in CNC automation and machine tool integration. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward thinking team and gain hands on experience with robotics, conveyors, gantries, and automated measuring systems across the UK and even globally.

The Role

As a Junior Automation Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to:

Support the design and programming of automation systems, including PLCs and robotic integration. Assist with mechanical fitting, electrical wiring, and panel building. Help interface automation systems using protocols such as Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, and TCP/IP. Contribute to the programming and simulation of FANUC robots. Aid in the development of intuitive HMIs and technical documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams during design, testing, and commissioning phases. Gain exposure to advanced automation technologies and best practices in cybersecurity.

What We're Looking For

A strong interest in automation, mechatronics, or robotics engineering. A basic understanding of PLCs, electrical systems, and/or mechanical integration. Eagerness to learn about robot programming, industrial networking, and CNC machine tool integration. Good problem-solving skills and a willingness to travel as part of your role. Familiarity with 3D CAD, E-CAD, or basic programming languages is a bonus.

Education & Qualifications

A recent degree, HND, or Level 4 qualification in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant coursework or personal projects in robotics, PLCs, or automation will be highly regarded.
