When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. As part of Sizewell C\xe2\x80\x99s commitment to local employment and skills, a dedicated jobs brokerage, the SZC Jobs Service \xe2\x80\x93 has been established to help prepare local people to find the right jobs for them. The service is dedicated to supporting a local talent pool of candidates, people who are interested in securing employment and training opportunities, driven by the building of SZC and associated developments. We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Job Service Lead to join SZC to lead and develop the job service on a daily basis, working closely with other SZC project teams, contractors, and key local employers and organisations. Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
The Role
As the Jobs Service Lead, a key part of your role will be taking the service through a period of establishment where it becomes fully operational and better placed to respond to the needs of the project. This\xe2\x80\x99ll include transforming the operating process and procedures with a greater focus on electronic management tools and capabilities, shaping and growing the local talent pool, partnering with local stakeholders, building new relationships with contractors, informing, and commissioning pre-employment support / skills development activity and working with colleagues to deliver an events & targeted campaigns programme. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be accountable for Jobs Service performance to the Skills & Employment Manager, as well as pro-actively supporting other colleagues across the wider SZC Employment Affairs Unit (EAU). Key project targets that this role will contribute to will include: Ensuring local employment is maximised with an aspiration for 2000+ of our workforce being residents from within a 90-minute commute of the site. Maximising opportunities to diverse and hard to reach groups to gain life enhancing career opportunities at SZC. Offering 1,500 SZC apprenticeships, over 540 of which will be awarded to residents from Suffolk.
The Skills
You\xe2\x80\x99ll be an experienced with managing a team and leading service provision, with a track record of supporting employers with recruiting local people and apprentices.
