Java Developer

As a Barclays Java Developer, you will be working in a fast pace environment. You will be working with developers to ensure quality network frameworks, mentoring junior level staff and identifying issues that affect product delivery. Hybrid Working
We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We\xe2\x80\x99re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances

What will you be doing?

• You will produce SOLID code with excellent test coverage
• Leading the team, providing support to colleagues reporting into you
• Identifying own and others\xe2\x80\x99 development needs and seeking opportunities to address these needs through guidance, coaching and formal training
• Fulfilling all mandatory training requirements, remaining current on all regulations and compliance rules and administrative functions

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

• Good command on the Java programming language such as, Java J2EE ( EJB, JPA, Struts), Javascript, Ext-JS / Angular JS, TreeGrid, Jboss Drools
• Proven experience in using Spring Framework and data structures
• Experiece in Weblogic/JBoss, SQL (MS-SQL preferred) & Messaging JMS/EMS/MQ / XML
• Good knowledge of emerging software development methods, tools and standards and actively keeping this knowledge current

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Capital Markets experience a plus
