Job Description

We are one of Europe's leading independent manufacturers of high-quality automotive products, and we are looking for an experienced IT People Manager to join our team. The role involves managing a team of 4 programmers and 2 hardware engineers and reporting directly to the Managing Director.

Salary of up to 50K depending on experience, 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, office based.

Overview

- The IT People Manager will play a vital role in leading and managing the development of in-house software and hardware IT teams, setting and prioritizing goals for the IT department, and ensuring effective communication both within the IT team and across the organization to keep all departments informed on IT-related matters.

We are looking for the candidate to:

Manage IT team, including performance management, training and development of staff.

Ensure the IT department follows the company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Ensure all IT resources are available and managed within the budget

Recruit, train and retain IT department staff

Set and enforce IT priorities, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives.

Prepare company reports, including highlight reports and reviews of the Company Risk Register.

Understand IT systems and develop and/or source software solutions that meet the needs of departmental managers and support company goals and objectives.

Ensure the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of all IT systems, software, and hardware.

Person Requirements

- The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and demonstrate:

IT and/or management qualifications, or significant management experience.

General understanding of IT systems

Understanding the resource requirements for the IT department

Trustworthy and dependable in managing sensitive information and tasks
