The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.
Based at our 64 acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for an IT Infrastructure Support Analyst. This role involves providing IT infrastructure support to Sheffield Forgemasters end-users and the IT systems across the business. Operating at 3rd line-level, the role works in conjunction with the IT service desk.
Role Responsibilities
Operating in conjunction with the service desk, working within the ITIL v4 framework.
Provide 3rd line support, investigation and diagnosis of any software or hardware issues.
Resolve any incidents / service requests with first time fixes, whenever possible.
Manage the physical IT environment, i.e. Servers, network switches, the comms rooms, etc.
Participate in various projects, including but not limited to the design and development of new services, Continual Service Improvement projects and ad hoc operational projects.
Assess risk, identifying critical service and system dependencies and defining and implementing countermeasures.
Design and perform tests for the functionality, performance and manageability of IT services to support service transition activities.
Maintain the CMS (Configuration Management System) and its data.
Deliver a high standard of service to internal customers by communicating updates on open tickets, incident progress and notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages.
About You
An IT - related degree or other relevant IT qualifications, such as Microsoft Certified Professional, CompTIA A+ or ITIL v4 Foundation is an advantage.
Excellent IT software skills in MS Windows Server Operating Systems v2016 and above, MS Office365 / Exchange 2016 and Hyper-V / VMware are required for this role.
A wide range of hardware skills, including firewalls, switches, routing servers and SANs is essential.
Due to business needs, flexibility for out of hours / on-call and weekend work may be required.
Days/Hours of Work
37.5 hours per week, Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday, with flexible start and finish time between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 \xe2\x80\x93 18:00
