We are a leading and long established law firm based in the heart of the Somerset countryside with a client list you would expect to see in the centre of a big city and we are expanding.

Purpose



Ensure all business systems are available to all users during working hours and playing an active role in the deployment of upgrades, fix's and development sometimes out of hours. To provide support to the Head of IT in the efficient roll-out of all IT projects across all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities



Maintain the current IT infrastructure across all sites, including the monitoring of backups, drive space, and server availability.

Set up Workstations, and laptops running Windows 10 & 11 for new employees and when current employees move offices.

Support employees with using Office 365, OneDrive, Adobe, AD and other software applications.

Maintain the printing solution, carrying out regular maintenance tasks, and monitoring the print supplies.

Troubleshoot Networking issues, including network switches, WAP, firewalls.

Repair, replace, upgrade and configure damaged or faulty hardware.

Monitor and maintain IT security posture.

Communicate IT changes across the company in a non-technical manner.

Troubleshoot hardware/software issues - maintaining a log of the issues and escalating as appropriate. Conduct and document testing of fixes or updates.

Carry out preventative maintenance tasks, server upgrades, server patching, desktop upgrades, new installations after business hours or at weekends as needed.

Provide support for LAN & WAN technologies.

Maintain and provide support for current and any future telephone systems.

Provide support for the company Virtual systems for example Hyper-V & VM-Ware.

Support the Head of IT in ensuring email, social media IT security policies and procedures are communicated and adhered to.

Assist in the implementation of software & hardware updates/rollouts. Help maintain the digital infrastructure, including updates to the Website.

Maintain and update SharePoint intranet

Assist in the testing /training of new software, including migration to cloud based software solutions.

Providing support to Finance team with accounts software issues, upgrades or introduction of new systems.

Assist Clients with their IT needs, for example emailing documents to fee earners, as required to ensure the timely delivery of required documents.

Please note:

The post holder will be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post, including work with a different department or team or at a different site. Due to the nature of IT there are maintenance tasks and activities, upgrades and roll outs that need to be performed outside the business hours.

Experience



Understand & maintain windows 10 & 11 laptop & desktop

Basic understanding of networking

Knowledge of Office 365 / OneDrive / Adobe / AD/ Azure (Affinity)

Ability to travel between our offices

Understanding of LAN, WAN and telephone technologies (VOIP)

Able to communicate effectively using non tech language

Knowledge of virtual systems Hyper-V and VM-ware

Minimum of 1-year post education experience in an IT support role

Desirable Experience



Knowledge of accounts packages (SAGE)

Knowledge of Server Architecture

Knowledge of ITIL support

Pay: 30,000.00 per year
