Brief job description:

Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for an IT Apprentice with Ocean Telecom, a Telecommunications company based in Oswestry.

So that\'s enough about us and hopefully we have kept you interested, we are seeking an IT Apprentice to join our small but perfectly formed IT Department. We support local businesses with their IT needs, our customers like to think of us as their own IT Department.

The role is 1st through to 3rd line support with a fair bit of local travel in and around Shropshire, Mid and North Wales, driving license not essential.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

This is an apprenticeship position that will provide the opportunity to learn the skills and knowledge necessary to become a successful IT professional in the UK. The apprentice will work with experienced IT professionals to gain hands-on experience in a variety of IT disciplines, including:

• Computer hardware and software installation and maintenance.
• Network administration.
• System administration.
• Security administration.
• Technical support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware and software.
• Troubleshoot computer problems and provide technical support to our customers.
• Administer computer networks and systems.
• Implement security measures to protect computer systems.
• Stay up to date on new IT technologies.

Qualifications:

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Skills and qualities required:

• Strong interest in IT.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Training to be provided:

Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

• Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure - physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
• Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
• Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance.
• Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
• Support the information systems needs for your business.
