Job Description


Our client is a well-regarded moving company with a base in Hertfordshire and they are seeking an International Shipping Coordinator to join them.

As International Shipping Coordinator, you will organize and reserve all services necessary for an overseas move by air, sea, or land, working with internal departments and partner agents to meet the client\'s expectations for consistent service excellence, cost containment, and target margins. You will also use effective communication and sales strategies to increase sales prospects and conversion rates.

International Shipping Coordinator Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensuring that e-mail inquiries and rate requests are promptly answered, and that quotes are provided within 24 or 48 hours of the request.
  • Communicating with clients, brokers, and shipping lines.
  • Coordinating the loading and receiving of items with the warehouse.
  • In charge of providing moving coordination services to clients of the business.
  • Collaborating with other internal departments to plan sales visits.
  • Managing reservations for moves for both new and returning customers.
  • Serving as a point of contact and source of assistance for customers as they get ready to move.
  • Bargaining with outside parties over rates and prices in order to maintain profitability and competitiveness.
  • Delivering a service that is responsive and professional.
  • Exceeding and meeting client expectations.
  • Providing a quality-driven, time- and cost-efficient moving experience.
  • Dealing with and responding to client inquiries as needed, including looking into client complaints and claims and obtaining remedies as needed.
  • Providing assistance to the other members of the team.
International Shipping Coordinator Requirements:
  • Experience working within the moving sector.
  • A strong import/export coordinator who has experience in the shipping/freight industry will be considered for this role.
  • Willingness to be flexible during the busiest times of the year.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
  • A motivated, enthusiastic, and upbeat outlook on work and projects.
  • Strong customer service abilities and great telephone manner.
