Role Overview:



The Internal Audit Director will plan and conduct audits to assess controls, operational efficiencies and compliance with selected policies, procedures and regulations. Performs highly advanced managerial work providing direction and leadership in strategic planning and operations that are in line with company expectations and its risk profile. Work involves establishing an Audit program with defined goals and objectives based on a group risk assessment, articulating to business units the role of the department, creating internal audit procedures, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress and meeting goals. Managing priorities with senior management and reviewing and approving the department's budgets. The director also develops and analyzes audit plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others.



Creates and establishes within a team environment protocol and guidelines Plans, directs, assigns, and supervises execution of audit activities and manages staff within the group. Establishes goals and objectives in line with business unit goals and strategies, based upon a group risk assessment Plans, develops and approves internal audit schedules, priorities and standards for achieving goals; directs internal audit evaluation activities, ensures compliance. Develop and implement techniques for evaluation programs Establish policies and procedures for the audit function and updates procedures as needed. Prepares annual audit plan reviewed with the business leaders Communicates with Sr. Management as well as staff on any updates to company or department strategy Contributes to group-wide policy and procedure development Evaluates compliance with department policies Reports on audit findings to Audit Committee Directs special projects as assigned Coordinates with External Auditors when relevant and maintains a strong working relationship

Job Requirements:



The ideal candidate will be mature, self-motivated and with a strong commitment to professional ethics and integrity. Work well in a team environment, have proven ability to work independently to deliver results and work effectively in a diverse multidisciplinary environment. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Open minded with the ability to learn in a fast paced, dynamic environment.



Financial services/brokerage industry experience BA degree in Accounting, Finance or related field "Big 4" or regional public accounting experience CPA required CISA, CIA, CFE certifications a plus Knowledge of performing internal control audits and assessments of business processes. Supervisory experience preferred. Must have proven leadership abilities and experience interacting with management and staff-level employees. Must have budget experience. * Must be able to build consensus and work effectively across departments and with executive and operational management.
