Interim MLRO & Head of Financial Crime (SMF17)- Contract

:

We are a hiring for an Interim MLRO for a leading Bank within the Retail space focused on providing exceptional financial services to diverse customer base. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MLRO to join the team and ensure compliance with anti-money laundering regulations advising the on financial crime compliance and mitigating risk within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversight of the bank\'s compliance with FCA rules on anti-money laundering systems and controls
• Act as the Head of Financial Crime, serving as the primary point of reference for AML expertise.
• Will be responsible for Oversight, development and implementation of systems and controls, ensuring compliance with FCA rules and guidance
• Stay up to date with relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance from regulatory bodies.
• Assess and advise on suspicious activity reports, ensuring appropriate reporting to the NCA.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and contribute to the development of systems, controls, and training programs.
• Prepare reports for management, including the annual MLRO report.
• Support the assessment of potential AML matches and oversee change management related to financial crime prevention.

Key Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Proven experience holding the MLRO/SMF17 position within Retail banking.
• Extensive experience in Financial crime within a UK.
• In-depth knowledge of the UK regulatory environment related to financial crime.
• Familiar with FCA and Financial crime regulatory knowledge.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex risk matters clearly.
• Proven experience in Stakeholder management
