Job Description


Our client, an instantly recognisable retailer, is looking for a Financial Manager to assume responsibility for the External Reporting function. The role requires a technically astute ACA or ACCA to assume responsibility for delivering timely and accurate periodic and annual financial reporting, and to ensure financial processes operate efficiently in compliance with agreed key controls.

The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely external financial reporting for the Group in line with IFRS and the Group accounting policies, with responsibility for some of the key primary statements and various components of the financial statements.
  • Being primary point of contact for the external reporting division, liaising with the relevant financial controllers and reviewing group\'s performance each accounting period, including continually improving the process and explaining periodic results.
  • Supporting the delivery of periodic results including presentation and analysis of accountable areas.
  • Engaging with auditors on a routine and adhoc basis, including preparation of accounting papers as required.
  • Delivering adhoc projects to support continuous improvement of the Group\'s external reporting, including liaising with the Group accounting technical team on significant non-routine transactions.
  • Able to support on varied technical accounting queries.
  • Liaising with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support to ensure a smooth audit and timely delivery of audited financial statements.
  • Address any audit-related queries and implement recommendations from auditors to enhance financial reporting processes.
  • Strong systems experience and ability to engage with system issues that arise as required
The successful candidate:
  • ACA/ACCA - Qualified with audit background.
  • Significant experience of working in a financial control role in a complex and fast paced organisation.
  • Expert technical knowledge of IFRS
  • Understanding of end-to-end business reporting
  • Solid audit background.
