Intelligence Researcher - Strategic Intelligence and Briefing Team (SIB)
Location: SW15

Pay Rate: \xc2\xa323.78 per hour

Working Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days at home)

Join the Strategic Intelligence and Briefing Team (SIB) and be at the forefront of assessing, briefing, and coordinating intelligence related to critical public order events.

Job Summary: As an Intelligence Researcher within the SIB team, you will collaborate with analysts, researchers, and police officers to assess and coordinate intelligence related to aggravated activism, strategic protest, and significant public order events across the UK. By identifying and mitigating risks, harm, and threats, you will contribute to upholding public safety and peace.
The SIB team provides essential intelligence and assessment services to both law enforcement stakeholders and police agencies, functioning as a crucial component of the National Police Coordination Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of intelligence professionals to develop assessments, event plans, and security reviews in alignment with core policing duties.
  • Utilize your research skills to gather, summarize, and interpret information from various sources, contributing to threat, risk, and harm assessments.
  • Support SIB analysts and police officers by maintaining intelligence profiles, populating databases, conducting open-source research, and aiding in the creation of threat assessments and briefing documents.
Essential Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to meet changing deadlines.
  • Willingness to undergo \'Security Cleared\' (SC) vetting if not already held.
  • Availability for shifts as required.
Desirable Skills:
  • Familiarity with police intelligence systems such as PND, PNC, and Force-level databases.
  • Understanding of the Police Network and government intelligence strategies.
  • Interest in current affairs, world events, and social media platforms.
  • Previous experience in intelligence research (advantageous but not required).
Vetting:
Due to the nature of the role and interactions with various agencies, candidates must either currently hold or be willing to undergo and attain \'CTC vetting,\' with an intention to obtain SC vetting once in the role.

Hybrid Working Arrangements:
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the office (including Wednesdays for team collaboration) and 2 days working remotely from home.
