The Cambian Group, the UK's largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities, is looking for a dedicated, caring individual to join the company as an Integrated Therapy Assistant based at Grateley School



Grateley House is an independent, Ofsted registered 38 week special school offering residential and day placements for young people aged 11-19 years old, who have a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), complex needs and challenging behaviour.



The school can support young people with other associated difficulties such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia. Secondary mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression and its associated behaviours can also be accommodated when such difficulties occur as part of (but not in place of) an Autistic Spectrum Disorder.



All young people in the school will have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) or a Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN).



This post will combine clinical and administrative support roles: you will work directly with individual Young People or with groups to deliver therapy programmes, under the direction of the senior OT or SaLT in the Educational and residential settings, and support the OT or SaLT in the assessment of young people's communication needs, functional skills, and report on individuals progress, provide support with resources for individuals and contribute to the development of the Communication and Sensory Environment. You will receive regular supervision and, as part of the Cambian Clinical Service, be eligible for training.

Candidate Profile

It is essential that the successful candidate has an interest in developing young people's Communication and functional skills, and meeting communication and sensory needs and have worked with Young people previously, preferably with Young People with special needs. Basic IT skills and the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a busy team are essential for all aspects of this post.

A successful candidate will have to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post.

Experience working with ASD and/or LD and/or Experience in CAMHS
