Curtiss-Wright\'s Sensors and Controls business unit is looking for a Senior Inspector to inspect hardware and documentation to support the completion of First Article Inspection Reports. Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Knowledge of AS9102 required. Knowledge of VisualFAI preferred but not essential.

Your Challenge
Performs First Article activates including inspection of hardware and documentation to support the completion of First Article Inspection Reports
Perform Inspections, checks testing and sampling procedures for product manufacturing processes. Checks a diverse range mechanical and electrical components for dimensional and documentation compliance to drawings and other documentation requirements.
Carries out packaging line, manufacturing inspections and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials to ensure that company standards are met.
Monitors critical equipment and instrumentation. Use tools effectively to assure consistency of measurement in a minimal inspection time.
Assist with drafting inspection procedures and validate or troubleshoot testing methods, including assays.
May apply approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials once analytical data is evaluated.
The use of effective and appropriate inspection processes to provide robust approval processes
To identify non-compliance issues and resolve in an effective way, internally or externally as needed.
General Responsibilities
To develop skills, use understanding of the inspection equipment used, i.e. CMM, Tesa-Scan, Shadow graphs etc.
To ensure adherence to the company QMS procedures and work practices and to proactively identify anomalies, errors and opportunity for development.
Working within a team supporting the organisation fully in all material handling and other reasonable requests.
Contribute to plans to develop the dept. in a continuous improvement culture.
To behave in an ethical and professional manner in line with company policies.
Maintain good housekeeping (e.g. 5S tidy work place; prompt handling of paperwork and goods; efficiency improvements).
Attend meetings as requested, on-time and fully prepared, contribute actively and complete all follow-up actions in agreed time-scales.
To assist in internal and external audits of the department as needed.
Your Expertise
Must have experience and understanding of FAI practices and expectations (AS9102)
Must be able to demonstrate confidently the use of various measurement techniques gained from previous experience in a related discipline.
Be able to read and interpret drawings, understanding geometrical and dimensional tolerances.
Previous experience of working as a Mechanical Inspector within an Aerospace environment.
