SPS Headquarters/Hybrid Working
Infrastructure Specialist
\xc2\xa345,566 - \xc2\xa348,640 (plus an annual supplement of \xc2\xa34000 and on-call-allowance)
Exciting opportunities have arisen within the Digital Services Team at the Scottish Prison Service as we recruit for an Infrastructure Specialist on a full time basis, working 37hours per-week.
As a Microsoft subject matter expert you will be part of our highly technical team that develops and supports the critical infrastructure that powers our 13 prisons, HQ, College and Central stores. You will take part in exciting infrastructure projects using the latest windows and virtualisation technologies and deploy leading edge services across our Scotland wide estate. The post holder will collaboratively and creatively to design and develop business critical systems to enhance support as the SPS develops and expands. Servers administrated include: Windows Servers, Database Servers and application Servers. These systems exist both on Premise and on Microsoft 365, with a migration to M365 and cloud hosted services in general ongoing.
Whilst the Digital Services Team are based in Edinburgh Headquarters, this role is open to hybrid working, meaning we won\'t specify how many days must be worked in the office, but rather based on business needs, expectations and a degree of personal choice. We care about how you work rather than where you work and we\'d welcome a conversation with the successful candidates on what remote working may look like for you.
The Digital Services Team
SPS Digital Services are a dynamic team, multi-skilled and multi-tasked. We have a hybrid mix of on-premise Legacy systems, cloud hosted O365 Windows and an ambition for delivering unified services in an enterprise wide cloud hosted data infrastructure. We are upskilling our workforce, recruiting those who want to contribute to a wide digital transformation programme which embraces staff and prisons facing technology, accessibility, usability and innovation.
We are providing voice and video call technology and looking to provide these services into individual rooms alongside a self-service portal with access to online services. We are also looking at data warehousing, data analytics and artificial intelligence to support staff decision making and develop a new case management platform to support staff with the prisoner journey.
