Job Description

MCS Group are currently working with a global player in the Manufacturing market who are on the lookout for an IT Infrastructure Engineer. This IT Infrastructure Engineer will be joining a team that has been going from strength to strength year on year and they are looking to assist that growth even more this year with the addition of this new Engineer.

The Role:

• Managing the hardware and networking equipment deployed across the entire company\'s infrastructure.
• Overseeing virtual environments hosted on VMWare/Hyper-V platforms and managing SAN storage resources.
• Administering server software for both Windows and Linux systems, including tasks such as patch management, security implementation, scripting, automation, IIS management, and server hardening.
• Maintaining the Exchange and Office365 infrastructure, ensuring system efficiency, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Managing Windows-based domain services, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and Group Policy Object (GPO) maintenance.
• Providing 1st and 2nd level operational support for infrastructure-related issues.
• Serving as a point of contact between staff, customers, and third-party suppliers for all matters related to server farms and LAN/WAN environments, as necessary.
• Prioritising tasks and workload effectively.
• Collaborating with the Infrastructure Manager to identify appropriate technical solutions for both incident resolution and project implementation.

Required:

• Proficiency in SAN technology (HP/EqualLogic/Compellent) and virtual appliances such as VMWare (vSphere, vCenter 5.x).
• Willingness to travel between various UK sites to provide daily business support (A valid UK driving license is a must).

Preferred Experience:

• Hands-on experience with the maintenance of Windows Server domains and Domain Controllers, specifically in Microsoft Active Directory environments.
• Experience in maintaining Microsoft Exchange Server versions 2010 or newer.
• Familiarity with Windows server installation, usage, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
• Competence in TCP/IP networking and LAN technologies, including IP address configuration and the ability to troubleshoot related issues.
• Proficiency in providing support and producing comprehensive support documentation.
