The role

As an Information Security Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for providing a high level of professional InfoSec support across Babcock's Mission Systems business unit.




Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for supporting the effective delivery of all day-to-day InfoSec related matters ensuring key support functions are delivered in a smart, flexible and holistic manner to ensure the business continues to operate safely and securely.




Support vulnerability management activities such as vulnerability assessments and security control assessments. Support the maintenance of the programme Information Security Management System (ISO27001). Support the Information Security Manager to deliver Information Security best practices across the programme. Create and maintain high quality security documentation, such as vulnerability and control assessment reports.





This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Information Security Specialist

IT background with roles within networking/system engineering/administration. Experience or awareness of Ministry of Defence Joint Service Publications (JSPs) such as JSP 440 and 604. Experience or awareness of Industry Standards including ISO27000, ISO28000, and NIST Cyber Security Framework. Experience or awareness of security control baselines such as NIST SP 800-53, CIS Benchmark, DISA STIGs. A broad understanding of computer and network technical architecture.

Qualifications for the Information Security Specialist

Relevant higher education qualification or industry certification.
Achieving or working towards ISO27001 Implementor / Assessor.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a SOLE UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
