If you're looking for a clinical role with no night shifts and a set schedule, this might be the perfect opportunity for you!Main duties of the jobYour main role will involve visiting schools alongside the immunisation team each day to support them in vaccinating children against diseases such as HPV, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio, Meningitis, and Measles. From September to December, you'll also assist in administering the flu vaccine to children in both primary and secondary schools.You'll need to vaccinate children efficiently, typically 12-25 per hour, depending on the vaccination programme. Working well as part of a team and collaborating with your colleagues is essential. You'll also be responsible for carrying out Gillick Competency Assessments with secondary-aged pupils and participating in clinical supervision and audits as required.As the face of Vaccination UK in schools and community clinics, a friendly, resilient, and cheerful manner is a must. Smiles are contagious, and we want to make every child feel at ease!You'll be:

  • Registered with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) with a nursing or midwifery qualification
  • Experienced in administering immunisations, with a strong understanding of best practice
  • Aware of Cold Chain principles for the storage, handling, and administration of immunisations
  • An excellent communicator with strong organisational abilities
  • Knowledgeable about consent principles, particularly when working with young people
  • Familiar with the Routine National Immunisation Schedule
  • Able to drive and have access to a car (desirable, but not essential)
