Based in an inner city multi-racial area of Leeds, Chapeltown Citizens Advice is an independent charity with 12 paid staff and 45 volunteers that provides a comprehensive advice service from its main office and outreaches. This is an exciting new project with the University of Leeds Law School. The role involves taking on family reunion and permanent residence applications for clients in our locality and supervising and training student volunteers to assist you in your work. One day a week will be spent at the university of Leeds. You will have Ability to understand the complexities of immigration law, compose concise arguments and present a coherent case. Confidence to speak in public. Excellent verbal and written communication. Understanding of, and commitment to, the aims and principles of the CAB service and its equality and diversity policies. Ability to deal with clients in a sensitive and professional manner. Every local Citizens Advice is a registered charity.
