The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Test Centre is a public examination centre that offers academic and general English language tests across 30+ test dates per year.
The IELTS Centre Manager will manage the operations of the Regional IELTS Test Centre, based in the University Centre for Academic English. Main duties include management of the application process and all pre- and post-test administration such as staffing of the test, ordering of test materials, arrangement of venues, producing results and upholding regulations throughout. The IELTS Centre Manager will supervise the IELTS Officers and manage the recruitment, training and monitoring of all test-day staff.
The successful candidate will have proven administrative experience in a customer service environment as well as experience of marketing a product; they will have good people management skills and be confident handling financial transactions. They will be able to uphold strict exam regulations, maintain confidentiality of candidate data and the security of test materials. They will be highly organized, work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines, and perhaps most importantly, be resourceful in finding solutions to problems. They will possess strong communication skills, particularly with customers who may only have basic levels of English.
A knowledge of the IELTS test and its uses is required. This is a full-time role and the postholder will also be required to work a minimum of 10 Saturdays per year to administer the tests.
