The Role

We are looking for a talented and experienced Architect to work within the Corporate Technology team alongside our ICT managed service partner. Your experience in architectural design will help us to provide an amazing and seamless user experience for our staff and our customers.

As an experienced architect your role will be to inform strategy and ensure we design our solutions and platforms that supports our long-term strategy and organisational aspirations. Additionally, you will provide our staff and customers with an IT framework on which to develop existing as well as new and innovative solutions. Where new solutions involve emerging technology, you will support the evaluation and revisions of any existing architectural designs alongside our ICT Managed service provider.

You will be expected to work closely with our ICT managed service partner in defining the technical architecture and a roadmap for ensuring that the Council continues to deliver efficient, cost-effective services whilst also being able to exploit the continuing developments in the wider technology arena.

About You

You will have experience and knowledge of solution architecture across networks, cloud hosting and end user computing. You will be comfortable with working across all levels of the organisation from Senior Management to technical staff and being able to clearly articulate the technical vision, tailored appropriately to the audience.

You will have an excellent knowledge of architectural patterns and best practices when it comes to designing an organisation wide approach to support multiple and disparate services on an Azure based platform.

You will support colleagues within the Technology team in ensuring that any new solutions are in line with the existing Architecture. You will support them in providing technical evaluation of new solutions and input into any business cases and procurement exercises.
