Role: Azure Data Architect/Engineer
:
Responsible for Building robust enterprise data environments based on Azure Data platform

-Building robust, sustainable enterprise data environments based on Azure Data platform, advising across solutions and assisting with deployment of platform capabilities
•  Aids to define platform projects scope, deliverables, milestones and timelines
. Provides guidance, standards and best practices to maintain projects backlog following software development methodologies
• Suggests improvements to platform, services, components and supporting processes
• Plays proxy product owner role for platform projects
• Shares and transfers knowledge from EPAM’s Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Competency Centers
Work with the Architects to translate functional specifications into technical specifications
• Understands platform architecture and its components
• Transfers architecture vision and guidance into projects backlog items
• Evaluates, testing and documenting new functionality of Azure services (SQL DB, SQL DW, AAS)
• Evaluates, testing and documenting utilization of new functionality of platform services provided by automation framework (provisioning, developer API)
Support compliance with data stewardship standards and data security, IRM process
• Provides Inputs for business critical and data catalog projects, workshops, discussions
• Understands IRM processes and aids to transfer requirements into technical specifications
• Configured platform privileged identity management roles and assignments
• Identified inconsistencies in platform security roles and assignments
Analyze existing standards to identify gaps and recommends standards, guidelines and best practices
• Analyzes and monitoring platform services and processes around them including but not limited: consumption costs, configuration settings, security settings, etc.
• Suggests and drives improvements based on findings and observations
Apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to resolve support issues as they arise
• Aids ASOM and DAE teams to address and solve business customers questions and issues
• Communicates with vendors and suppliers (Microsoft, Rapid Circle, HAProxy) in order to describe, address, expedite and resolve questions and issues
• Provides consultancy with solving issues and best practices of the usage of platform services (SQL DB, SQL DW, AAS)
Addressing data quality issues, such as data gaps or biases in underlying data sets, as well as their impact on reporting capabilities
• Identified configuration inconsistencies (ADLS firewalls and proxies), initiated fixing process with ASOM support
• Identified runaway costs, acted to reduce cost consumption, planned automated activities to mitigate future similar situation
• Identified inconsistencies in platform metadata information (tags), initiated fixing process with ASOM support
Delivers insights - objectively deliver insights and help create a culture of data-driven decision making, in a timely manner
• Tracks decision logs, issues, solutions, workarounds and share with platform support teams
• Transforms complicated technical aspects into a simple and clear form and shares with stakeholders and related teams
